BIG PICTURE® Essentials I

Published: 19th April, 2021

To Engage and Collaborate for Outcomes requires a straighforward language. In this session we demonstrate several ‘icebreaker’ techniques to impart the knowledge of the Symbols and the Board. These facilitate incredibly engaging conversation in organisations just like yours or those of your clients. We’ll help you and your colleagues become familiar with the approach to ensure you’ve thought of all the different aspects of the conversations. We won’t know exactly how the Symbols and the Board are going to connect- that’s what we’ll do together.

As always, BIG PICTURE® Digital Kit really aided the communication of ideas and streamlining the process of “converting” ideas into opportunities. During an unrelated conversation, it occurred to me how well BIG PICTURE® traverses connections between ideas, data, teams and so many things. Businesses today seem so much busier than 30 or 40 years ago according to some but I wonder if that’s because silos have been created within our businesses, despite the progression of technology, and perhaps we have forgotten the art of “Managing Interdependence”? This is where BIG PICTURE® stands out in my opinion.

You’ll hear different voices for placing the different Symbols in relative importance to a successdul business. We have found this is the best way to impart the knowledge of the Symbols. There is no right or wrong answer here! Some patterns around People, Team and Customer, at the centre. The importance of Measuring good and how Processes provide an enabler and result of the Measure. Listen how the conversation pings around the team. This could be your colleagues sharing their own useful truths getting on the same page.

We moved onto the Board layout and in front of our eyes colleagues re-assembled the layout. Again this is less about creating the exact BIG PICTURE® more about activating the right kind of thinking a conversation. We talked about the role of Management ‘bouying’ up the organisation rather than the top down organisational structure.

In the final exercise we moved into the Digital Kit to put our new learning into practice. As a result connections are made and this is where the magic happens. In this session the role of a consultant, not as a Partner or Supplier, but embedded within the Management themselves. This single conversation at the beginning of an engagement would establish a way of working this is going to benefit the project going forward.

We have a responsibility to bring back the diversity of ideas into a prioritised list of actions. We demonstrated how we do that via the Opportunities drawer in the Digital Kit. As a results that’s more output in a shorter amount of time!

The ‘webinar’ word doesn’t really describe what it is we do with our time in sessions. We love a conversation where everyone has the chance to contribute.

Participants are provided with the means to make connections thus drawing attention to the conversation that is going on around.

It’s how we roll!

Whether it’s Change, Strategy, Finance, Learning, Onboarding and Performance take some time to put the BIG PICTURE® Essentials into practice. Watch below to take away a base level understanding of the approach into your next conversation. Time to tell your own story – let’s go ..

Please do ask us to help you achieve this same impact in your organisation. We can deliver this activity for you and at the same time upskill your team to take over the delivery. You can weave this into your ongoing activities which means you’re paying once for resources and deploying them many times across your organisation.

Find out more about our approach for Engaging Colleagues led by our six YourBigPic specialist Partners. You can have a go yourself by printing and writing on the resource within the brochure you can download. The stuff we care about is all over our YouTube channel @YourBigPic. I would love to take you through a taster of BIG PICTURE® in a Webinar you can sign-up for here.
