Overview of ITER-IT

Introducing the sixth of the Six ITs™ ITER-IT .. a need to take stock regularly to evaluate, reset, and reinvigorate. Generating Wicked Outcomes™, in response to the inherent dynamic complexity of your Wicked Challenge™, is a journey of improvement. As such, it requires checkpoints along the way.

What's on your pad?

Tell us your challenge

There should be no surprise (given you have got this far!) that there is a need to take stock regularly to evaluate, reset, and reinvigorate. Generating Wicked Outcomes™, in response to the inherent dynamic complexity of your Wicked Challenge™, is a journey of improvement. As such, it requires checkpoints along the way.

Given the gliding scale between tameness and wickedness, which will vary over time, agreeing on a process involving multiple iterations of activity is essential to maintain flexibility and build confidence based on what has gone before.

Using the previous ITs, an approach to the narrative around ITer-IT’ing is to:

  • RESOURCE IT: Reset Resourcing by re-assessing against what has been learned, what is needed, and what you can provide;
  • COLLABOR-IT: Reinvigorate the Collaboration by checking whether the right people remain in the right room, taking account of framing and environment;
  • FRAME IT: Reset the Framing by re-assessing against the criteria and configuration of the Wicked Challenge™ with its related tame problems;
  • INNOV-IT: Re-invigorate Innovation by introducing new stimuli and focus within the new framing;
  • MEASURE IT: Reset the Measures by updating both the Macro and Micro level measures to reflect the parameters for the new iteration.
